Improving Our STEAM Skills

We started our year off by improving our programming skills with Cybot and discovering its advanced features. We also introduced a new robot to our adventures: 'Evo-bot'. Besides that we took apart and put together some toys to learn about the different parts and their functions. Who's our new robot-friend? We needed to go through an obstacle course to be able to save our new robot-friend and test our programming skills while having fun. In our activities we have fun, because we can play games that make the learning with robots more than just programming. We take our adventures outdoors to feel the achievement of earning the new robot by applying skills such as: coding, maths, teamwork, communication, patience, perseverance and gross motor skills. December's Robot-adventures

December was a month full of activities that lifted our Xmas spirit up. We practiced our programming skills, both online and offline, by playing fun board games and other fun games with the robots. Offline Balls Cannon Game We practiced our programming abilities by playing real life games where the kids have to code a real person into following a path that leads it to a specific target on the grid. In this game the kids practice their shapes vocabulary and puzzle assembling skills, developing a deeper understanding of applying their STEAM skills in a real-life situation. In this kind of offline games the kids use their critical thinking skills and teamwork abilities to guide the robot(in this case Nando) to a specific place on the grid. November's Robot-Adventures

Since the time we introduced CodApillar to our robot-family we've been experimenting different educational activities with the robot and the App.  Programming CodApillar We used our creativity to create tunnels and obstacles to test if our programming and teamwork abilities can help CodApillar go through them.  By using Lego, and other toys we found interesting, we created our own circuits to see if our programming abilities could help us guide our little robot to the finish line.  CodApillar is a great tool to practice different STEAM abilities without using the screen. October's Robot-adventures

During our first month of Coding and Robotics we practiced our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) skills and went on fun adventures to discover the interesting world or robots. We practiced programming by communicating with our little robot-friends and solving different fun challenges while enjoying fun educational offline games. Robot-mouse and Bluebot To start with our robot adventure we learned about robot-mouse and the different games we can create with it to test our programming and creative thinking skills. We started learning about the differences(speed, size, colors, parts, weight) that each robot has and how we can understand those to better program our little robot-friends.
